In 1971 He was certified to teach Karatedo and Kobudo. In 1982 Grandmaster Robert A. Trias appointed him as Chief Instructor of Shuri-ryu Karatedo. There are only eigth of these chief instructors worldwide. Hanshi Abele is a member of the Inner Council for the International Shuri-Ryu Association. He is the founder and director of the International Shurite Yudansha-Kai, a worldwide organization of black belts dedicated to the research and development of Karatedo, Ju-Jutsu and Kobudo. He is a graduate of Florida State University and has a Ph.D. in Asian Combative Studies from a Hong Kong University.
Ridgely Abele, Hanshi
Hanshi Abele travels, trains and teaches extensively throughout the United States, Canada, Europe and Asia (Japan, Hong Kong & China), training with the best martial arts instructors in the world. He has produced over 300 black belts throughout the world and maintains schools in the United States and Europe. He was elected to the Trias International Society as one of the most spirited fighters in the country. Hanshi Abele is a former Head Coach for the USA Karate Federation and is a National Licensed Referee who has served as the chief referee for two world championships
Hanshi Abele has achieved national and international acclaim in the Martial Arts as the winner of regional, national, and international tournaments, including the (USKA) United States Karate Association Nationals, the First Florida Professional Championships, the United States Karate Association Internationals, and the 1983 USKA World Championships. He placed second in both fighting and forms in the 1984 USKA World Championships, and was the 1985 USKA World Kata Champion Recently; Hanshi Abele has been inducted into the "Living Legends" as a pioneer of sport karate. He is currently the owner/operator of the Columbia School of Karatedo in Columbia, South Carolina.
Troy J. Price, Tashi
Troy J. Price began his Karatedo and Kobudo training in 1982 at the Columbia School of Karatedo West Columbia, SC, under the direction of Hanshi Ridgely Abele. In 1985 he began studying Ju-Jutsu along with his Karatedo training. In 1997 he also began studying Baguazhang and Qigong and in 1999 began studying Taijiquan and Xingyiquan. Tashi Price trains with several nationally and internationally known instructors in the traditional Martial Arts of Karatedo, Ju-Jutsu, Kobudo, Aikido, Kyusho-Jutsu, Chin-Na, Wing Chun, Baguazhang, Xingyiquan, Taijiquan and Qigong.
In 2004 Tashi Price was awarded an international instructor's license to teach Martial Arts worldwide. He is presently doing extensive research on the Kyusho-Jutsu (vital point striking) aspects within Karate and Ju-Jutsu. Tashi Price has authored a two-volume set on the Essential Principles Of Shuri-Te Ju-Jutsu and is now developing a DVD series on Combative Flow Training, Kyusho-Jutsu, Karate-Jutsu and Ju-Jutsu.
Tachi Price conducts seminars nationally and in Europe. He has helped start Ju-Jutsu programs at Karate schools throughout the southeast. Tashi Price travels and trains throughout the United States, Europe, Mainland China, Hong Kong and Southeast Asia. Tashi Price presently serves as the Secretary General for the International Shuri-Te Yudansha-Kai and is the Director of the Shuri-Te Bujutsu-Kai.
Tashi Price is a former member of the USA Karate Federation National Team Pool. He was a member of the first national kata team and second national kumite team to train at the USA Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He has competed and medalled in many regional, national and international championships, including placing second at the 1985 United States Karate Association (USKA) World Championships.
In September of 1998 Tachi Price traveled to Mainland China where he spent 25 days visiting 14 cities and took a 4 day cruise down the Yangzi River. While in China he received instruction in Tai Chi Chuan and had the opportunity to practice Baguazhang and Qigong. During his trip down the Yangzi River he gave a demonstration of his Karatedo and Ju-Jutsu skills to a group of Chinese and foreign tourist.
